What You’ll Learn
We’ll cover the foundations of belly dance from the top and give you a toolbox of tips and tricks on how to practice. We will cover posture, all the basic moves like chest isolations, hip isolations, shimmies, and more. This 7-week course is designed to build your confidence step by step in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Meet your instructor
Dhara is a seasoned, internationally acclaimed belly dance artist and Aranya Belly Dance & Movement director. She began her journey in belly dancing over 18 years ago. Within a few years, Dhara was traveling around the world to learn and teach, training with renowned masters.
Her international career took her to Turkey where she was invited as a Master Teacher at the prestigious Tarazade Festival. Dhara also travelled to China, where she represented India at The Global Belly Dance Conference, and to the USA to train. Dhara regularly travels to the Middle East for further studies, including her most recent trip to Egypt, the heartland of belly dance.
Dhara opened Aranya Belly Dance & Movement Studio in the Waterloo Region to create an artistic, inclusive, and culturally rich space dedicated to belly dance. With a professional background in Clinical Psychology and as a Yoga Master, Dhara integrates mental health and holistic well-being into her teaching, promoting not just the joy of dance but also the importance of overall wellness.
