Class Etiquette & Policies
To help create a focused and supportive environment for everyone, please take a moment to review the following:
Arrive 5–10 minutes early to use the restroom, change, and get settled.
Phones on silent as soon as you're on the studio premises (or video call, if attending virtually).
If you arrive late, please enter quietly to avoid disrupting the class.
Keep personal belongings off the dance floor. You may bring a water bottle to keep nearby.
Please stay quiet while the teacher is speaking or demonstrating. This helps everyone stay focused and ensures instructions are clearly heard.
Respectful behavior is essential. Any form of abusive, hateful, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. The instructor reserves the right to ask anyone to leave the class if necessary.
Please do not teach or correct classmates. If someone needs help, the instructor will provide support.
Respect the space, the instructor, and fellow dancers. If you have questions, ask the instructor at an appropriate moment during or after class.
Registration Policies
All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
If you miss a class, you may attend one make-up class during the same session (subject to availability).
If you miss multiple classes, unfortunately we cannot offer additional make-ups.
FAQs
What does a typical belly dance class look like? How long is each class?
Each class is approximately 50 minutes long. We start the class with a 5-10 min warm-up so your muscles are primed and ready to dance. The next 40 mins would be focused on dance (techniques and drills) and the last 5-10 mins would be a cool-down stretch.
What should I wear in the class?
Please wear comfortable clothing that will give you freedom of movement. Typically, yoga pants and leggings are the preferred choices. Please carry a hip scarf or a normal scarf you can use to tie around your waist. Hip scarves are also available to purchase in the studio.
I have taken some belly dance classes in the past. Can I jump to more intermediate/advanced classes?
It depends! If you’ve taken a few classes in the past, I’d recommend you start from Beginners 1. Every teacher has a different style/technique/vocabulary that may not be transferable. It’s always preferred to brush up on the basics and get familiar with our style. If you have trained for a few years and have been practicing actively, we’ll assess your technique and recommend the best level for your skills. If you’re not sure, please reach out to us at info@aranyabellydance.com and we’ll guide you.
Do you provide performance opportunities?
Yes! You will have the opportunity to perform in our showcase and other shows.
